One Slice Per Life With Chef Mohammed

A remarkable Chef who refuses to abandon his people—especially the children of his homeland—Chef Mohammed dedicates himself to cooking daily meals for nearly 400 children fighting to survive amid severe hardships. Driven by determination, compassion and a mission to provide hope, he has self-funded his efforts, raising resources and building a mobile kitchen to ensure these children have something to eat and receive even the most basic nutrition.

Currently, living in a tent with his family and constantly enduring relentless bombing, Mohammed remains steadfast in his mission. Tragically, one of his closest colleagues—a key figure in securing vital food supplies—was recently killed, underscoring the escalating challenges he confronts. Yet, he perseveres, working collaboratively with organizations like World Central Kitchen and ACS Italia to amplify his impact, deliver aid, and extend hope to those in need.

At just 31 years old, Mohammed has already built an inspiring career defined by resilience and excellence. His culinary journey began at Gaza City’s renowned Al-Taboon Restaurant, where he mastered the art of pizza-making. He then advanced his craft under the mentorship of a world champion chef in Italy, specializing in Sicilian cuisine and acrobatic pizza techniques.

But Mohammed’s story is far more than one of culinary success. It is a testament to his unwavering humanity. In the face of unimaginable adversity, he continues to bring nourishment and hope to those who need it most, inspiring us all with his compassion, selflessness, courage, and relentless drive to save the children.
